For a child with a life-threatening medical condition, a wish experience can give back what the illness takes away. It can help children forget about being sick...remember how to be kids...laugh out loud...and inspire them to keep making plans for the future. You can help grant a wish to a local child in your community. There are many ways to ensure the continued mission of granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. There are so many ways you can support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, here are just a few examples: INDIVIDUAL DONATIONEach and every person can help to make wishes come true for a child living with a life-threatening medical condition. You can make a donation today to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida by mailing a check or money order to the address below. To make a secure on-line donation using your credit card, www.wish.org/help/donate and choose Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida EXTERNAL EVENTSA large portion of the funds raised for Make-A-Wish are through companies and individuals who have organized their own unique fundraisers. This is a great way to raise money for and to bring awareness to Make-A-Wish. Your first step is to come up with an idea. Here is a list of some fun and unique fundraisers that have been done in the past, Fundraising Ideas. Once you have determined a fun and unique way to raise funds you will need to fill out an application Special Events Proposal Form (Word DOC 50KB). Central and Northern Regions Space Coast Region Suncoast Region, Tampa Suncoast Region, Sarasota KIDS FOR WISH KIDSThis is a program that can be coordinated in local schools that give students the opportunity to sponsor wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Kids For Wish Kids is an extremely popular program for kids because the kids manage it. They are responsible for forming the committee, coming up with fund-raising ideas and carrying them out. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership of the group belongs solely to the kids involved. The Kids For Wish Kids program helps to increase awareness of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission; involving more people in helping to grant wishes and fosters the value of community service by providing kids with hands-on experience in helping to grant wishes through their local chapter.
