Spend a day out on the field in a custom uniform with some of the local “Legends of the Game.” Major League All Stars and Hall of Famers such as Ron LeFlore, Mike Heath, Anthony Telford, Brian Tolberg, Dick Drago and Dennis Rasmussen will take the field with YOU in June 2010. Your one-day “Fantasy Baseball Camp” includes a day of practice and game play, as well as dinner with the Pros. while watching a Florida State League game in a suite at Bright House Networks Field, home to the Philadelphia Phillies and Clearwater Threshers. A silent auction featuring vacation packages, unique sports memorabilia, and entertainment packages will also help to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Your one day Fantasy Baseball Camp is a $900 registration fee, and includes customized uniform, meals all day and one-on-one interaction with the “Legends of Baseball.”

New for 2010, this will be the first time the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida hosts a black tie gala in the Tampa Bay area. A black tie with a focus on our mission, this event will be one that guests walk away from knowing exactly what their funds went to, and being so glad they were a part of it! Tables of 10 are $1500, individual tickets are $200 per person, and patron tickets are $300.

Beaches Walk for Wishes

Walk for Wishes is an annual pledge walk, with entrants working towards prizes for highest pledge amounts raised. The day of event includes fun, games, and complimentary food and beverages for all walkers. Other activities for the day include DJ music, face painters, and more, plus a special wish child and their family talking about their recently completed wish. Walkers are asked to pay a registration fee of $10, which covers hard costs only, and a $50 pledge minimum will secure a walk t-shirt. Prizes will be given to those who raise the most in pledges. *Please note, this event is not based on distance walked and the entry fee covers hard costs only. Walkers are encouraged to raise pledges and to start early!

Kellen’s wish to go to Oregon in an R.V.

Below is a beautiful letter written by Kellen’s mother Jill:

No words can describe the incredible gift that you have given our family through Kellen’s wish to explore Oregon in an R.V. I truly did not realize how much we needed to get away as a family until now. We feel restored, rejuvenated, filled with hope and ready to push the “play button” on life again.
The R.V. was perfect; the campgrounds were spectacular; and the weather could not have been better. Every time I ask Kellen his favorite memory his answer changes: the fishing adventure on Diamond Lake (we caught 18 rainbow trout which we cooked over the campfire!), seeing the Sea Lions and a herd of elk grazing; and building a campfire to roast hot dogs and Smores. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated just soaking in the joy my family was experiencing. I could actually feel the stress from the past nine months melting away with every mile.
Kellen had so much energy. He ran up the dunes on the Oregon Coast, hiked until we were all worn out, and slept peacefully every night. AND…it seems as soon as we returned home, his appetite increased significantly. YEAH!
When I look back on this adventure, I am so filled with gratitude. We are looking at life a bit differently now; and thanks to your kindness, the view is spectacular.
