Below is a beautiful letter written by Kellen’s mother Jill:

No words can describe the incredible gift that you have given our family through Kellen’s wish to explore Oregon in an R.V. I truly did not realize how much we needed to get away as a family until now. We feel restored, rejuvenated, filled with hope and ready to push the “play button” on life again.
The R.V. was perfect; the campgrounds were spectacular; and the weather could not have been better. Every time I ask Kellen his favorite memory his answer changes: the fishing adventure on Diamond Lake (we caught 18 rainbow trout which we cooked over the campfire!), seeing the Sea Lions and a herd of elk grazing; and building a campfire to roast hot dogs and Smores. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated just soaking in the joy my family was experiencing. I could actually feel the stress from the past nine months melting away with every mile.
Kellen had so much energy. He ran up the dunes on the Oregon Coast, hiked until we were all worn out, and slept peacefully every night. AND…it seems as soon as we returned home, his appetite increased significantly. YEAH!
When I look back on this adventure, I am so filled with gratitude. We are looking at life a bit differently now; and thanks to your kindness, the view is spectacular.
