“On the plane, I woke him up and said, ‘Austin, see all that white? That’s snow!’” said his aunt, Lesley. “I thought he was going to go through the window.”
Living with Langerhans Cell Histicytosis, a rare disease similar to cancer, 4-year-old Austin wished for one thing…to have a snowball fight. He and his family stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont, visited the Vermont Teddy Bear and the Ben and Jerry’s factories, and hurled snowballs with the Stowe Fire Department. His wish gave him the opportunity to be a kid again. His mother said, “I love watching him fall face first to the ground just to eat the snow.”
